Final Placings For Senior Girls Softball

INTERSCHOOL SPORT RESULTS I have received the final ladder and I’m happy to announce that the softball girls were runners up! That is a fabulous effort considering we played against ten other teams. I hope all of the girls enjoyed their time playing softball this season; it has been a pleasure to coach them. Thank you to the parents who have transported the girls to and from the games the past ten weeks. Without your support our students would not have had the experience of inter-school competition. Thanks Mrs Christiaans

P&C Christmas Hamper and Christmas Raffle

CHRISTMAS HAMPER Christmas is a time for much joy celebration with family friends. Sadly however there are families who would not have a bright day if it were not for the help of local charities such as the Salvation Army. This year the P C are asking the families of our school to place a can or any non perishable food in the decorated basket located in the school office. This hamper will then be donated to the Salvation Army for distribution. Every little bit helps, thank you for your support. The families who receive help at this time of year are truly grateful for the kindness of others.

Year Six/Seven Class Get Ready For New Challenges

The children have been working very hard writing their persuasive texts and finalising this term’s unit on Australian Government. I commend the students and their positive approach to their assessment tasks. It is very refreshing to see the children enjoying their learning so much. This Friday the Year Six students will be completing nominations for 2010 School Captains. The top four girls and top four boys will then be chosen to design their campaign and prepare their speech for the school. Meanwhile the Year Seven students are busy preparing for the graduation night next Tuesday. A reminder that all tickets need to be paid for by Friday 27th November as no late bookings will be taken.
Year Four Enjoy Hosting Five Travel Buddies

Goodbyes and Hellos Travel buddies are small stuffed toys that students get to take home each night to participate in family activities. Students write in a travel buddy journal taking the travel buddy's point of view. Year Four have been hosting five travel buddies. Rocky (the racoon) just arrived yesterday from Anthony Elementary School in Anthony, Kansas, U.S.A. Blue Whale Lucy (the marine turtle), Gaz (the Tassie devil) and Perry (the platypus) are visiting Year Four from Anzac Terrace Primary School in Perth, Western Australia. The W.A. travel buddies will be returning on Monday. Year Four is a bit sad about this. But Banjo (the bandicoot) and Misty (the greater glider) are returning from W.A. Mrs Marrion and her class have been excellent travel buddy partners. Rocky is going to stay with us right through until 2010. Popcorn (the ringtail possum) who is in Kansas will stay there over the Christmas break because their students are still in school whilst we are on holidays. Everybody is excited because we are doing the travel buddies but it's a bit sad when they have to go back. By Year 4 (with a little help from Mr Clark)

Year Two Enjoyed Their Lone Pine Visit

What a fantastic day we all had on our excursion to Lone Pine! The children took part in information sessions about koalas, Tasmanian devils and a very hands-on look at a variety of reptiles. The day was a wonderful success and I wish to commend all the children on their fantastic behaviour and well thought out questions.
