All Queensland state schools will be implementing the Australian Curriculum in English, mathematics, science and history (in 2013).

This curriculum has been created by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority, with input from some of Queensland's leading education experts.

The curriculum outlines the expected learning at the end of each school year from Prep to year 10.

The Australian curriculum is gradually replacing the current Queensland curriculum in all key learning areas.
