The contruction of the new campus is in full swing. See it being constructed below!
Background:
●The
Pallara community’s population has been growing with many new homes being built
and families moving to the area.
●Pallara State School’s in-catchment
student population has grown rapidly and the school’s grounds are not
large enough to cater for the student demand.
●The
Department of Education, together with Pallara State School and the P&C,
explored many options with two options undergoing community consultation.
After extensive consultation, it
was agreed to have Prep to Year 1 (P–1) campus students located at the former
Pallara State School site, and Years 2 to 6 at the current Pallara State
School.

The P–1 campus will be like a brand new school with new or greatly
refurbished facilities.
The new P–1 campus is designed to
be a self-sufficient, small school for early years and includes:
●a new
two-storey learning centre with
20 classrooms, 2 flexible learning rooms and student amenities on both building
levels
- a new
administration building
- new tuckshop
- new
amenities block
- new
facilities building, including storage and work areas for grounds staff
- a new
large covered outdoor seating area
- two new covered playgrounds
- refurbishment of the existing Resource
Centre building
- refurbishment of the existing
multi-purpose hall
- a large sports field (more than 400m2).
Car
parking, drop-off zone, bus and pedestrian access
- Two
car parks will be built: a staff car park and a visitor/short-term car park
(approximately 80 car spaces in total).
- A
drop-off/pick-up zone with 4 pick-up bays and queuing space inside the school
grounds.
- Covered
bike storage area.
- The
existing bus stop at the front of the new school campus will be
extended
-
to provide capacity for two buses.
- A
school crossing on Ritchie Road including kerb build outs.
- The
area will become a 40 km school zone.
